The
Jaw Joint (Temporomandibular Joints - TMJ)
These
joints, located just under and forward of the ears,
are an often unsuspected cause of neck and facial
pain and headache. TMJ problems are often poorly diagnosed
and quite often are simply related to muscular imbalances
in the jaw that can be relatively easily removed by
chiropractic. In some circumstances it is important
for the chiropractor to work in close conjunction
with your dentist.
If
you feel tension around your jaw, you have a "clicky"
jaw or suffer from any pain in the neck and jaw area
it is good to have this assessed by your chiropractor.
Interestingly, it seems slightly more common in females
than males and often begins in early teenage years
